If you’re looking to impress your partner in the bedroom, it turns out you may just need to do one thing. At least if you listen to one se.x guru. Dating expert Jana Hocking recently opened up about something very important that women like when it comes to saucy time – se.x toys.
Thinking back to the first time she came across one, on her 21st birthday, she admitted she was a “se.x toy snob”. Years ago she said they were often seen as a “cheeky joke”, but then lockdown happened.
Though they were formerly little gadgets reserved for se.x In The City episodes, Jana said a lot of lonely ladies turned to them during the pandemic.
Writing for news.com.au, she said: “A company specialising in the ‘pleasure’ had sent one as a gift but I had never taken it out of its packaging. But lockdown was long, friends. It was long.
“So, one night curiosity/boredom got the better of me and I tried it out. It was one of those shell-shaped vib.rators that fit perfectly into the palm of your hand and was for external use. (Which, for reference lads, is where women are more likely to reach orgasm.)
“Holy. Mother. Of. God. How could something so small. So plastic. Create a feeling ‘down there’ that was so dang pleasurable. Only a few months earlier I had ranted on and on about how something plastic or rubbery surely couldn’t do the same thing as a living, breathing human man.”
It turns out it could, and she noticed influencers were starting to talk about them online. Thinking back to one woman she saw, she said she didn’t have to strip off or get saucy – she was just stating a popular opinion.
She was making it known that se.x toys are great and women love them, and soon Jana started chatting to her friends about them and recommending different gadgets.
Even Gwyneth Paltrow started selling various saucy toys on her Goop website, which she admitted was a celebrity collaboration she could “get on board with”.
Jana also said she was recently listening to the “Call her daddy” podcast interview with Heidi Klum and, in between brainstorming with host Alex Cooper, she talked about the notion of creating a dildo in the shape of a worm. As well as this, she confessed she has a “se.xy drawer” where she keeps all sorts of racy items.
“I am loving the level of comfort women now have with their se.xuality and finding new ways to orgasm,” Jana continued. “No more keeping these topics hushed away, kept like dirty little secrets.
